Special Black History Month Soup Kitchen & Central London Homeless Outreach Event

To celebrate Black History Month with our service users, volunteers and the community, we have designated Saturday, the 14th of October, as Black History Month Day. In addition to our regular meal selection, we will be adding a number of special Afro-Caribbean dishes to our buffet menu on the day to commemorate the occasion. Where possible, we encourage interested members of our team to wear clothing reflecting black culture. 

Over 8 million people in the UK are living in food poverty. The current cost of living crisis has led to widespread destitution with many individuals and families struggling to eat and take care of basic needs. Our Soup kitchen and outreach programmes are targeted at these highly vulnerable members of our community. Our simple strategy is to identify and focus on the most desperate cases (those on the streets), while not ignoring others with less obvious needs. We serve lunch…
